Social Listening : Michaels Stores

Image
Social Listening in Marketing.  I picked Michaels as my brand/company because I really enjoy arts and crafts and it is one of the stores i constantly visit. Most people I talk with who are interested in the same things that I am, prefer Michaels over some of their competitive bands like Joannes. Personally, I have always had positive experiences with the Michaels store in Corvallis, they have excellent customer service at check outs and for the most part leave you alone to your shopping. I have always been the person who hates having a worker come up to me while shopping because I dont like being interrupted, but I assume the workers know that if you are shopping there you know what you're there for, and if you need help you will find them.  Their primary goal of their stores and website is " we're here for our creative customers — the Makers — who make the world brighter and more meaningful ." And to make the customers leaving satisfied from their stores. Mic...

MARKETING IN THE NEWS : Oscar Mayers bologna face mask

Image
One interesting marketing project I found was more of a gimmick, just to cause spark in the brands name.  Oscar Mayers has always been well known in the sandwich making community, with one of their most recognizable foods being their bologna. The most common thing with this lunch meat is the way its packed. Bologna is not the most popular sandwich meat, which is why I guess Oscar Mayer leaned into marketing it. The face mask is, of course, shaped in a circle with the eyes and mouth being cut out like they were bitten into. Its a funny concept, and was #1 on amazon beauty for a few days before the hype of it wore out.  Its a silly little thing, but it was planned well as the beauty community was taking off with more and more people catching onto the spark of it. It is currently unavailable on amazon, not sure if it will ever be restocked, but its selling on ebay for $21.99 if yo...

EMMAS INTRO

Hello! My name is Emma Sisler and I am studying graphic design at LBCC for a 2 year degree! I have lived in Corvallis, OR my whole life in the same house. I have 3 siblings and 4 pets. My parents are both 63, and I am their youngest at 20 years old. My oldest sibling is 37 I believe. I have two dogs, Nova and Stella, and two cats, Abbey and Mabel. I am currently in this course since it is apart of my course to earn my final degree. I am most interested in marketing on how to create a successful marketing strategy and how this will all tie into your final product. I am very interested in what makes marketing successful and how to market yourself to also become successful.  Outside of college, I am most passionate about music. Not making my own music, but supporting artists and their musical careers. My favorite genre of music is KPOP. I have been lucky enough to be able to see my favorite groups in concert, and one of them I was able to see last week, Stray Kids. On Friday...
